Various mumblings.

I've been busy with a sick baby. :( Just a cold, but it's so pitiful seeing your sweet girl all snotty with a juicy cough, goopy, swollen eyes, and a fever. That's how we spent our 3 day weekend.

We did partake in Old Navy's half off discounted prices sale. I got a winter coat that was originally $79.50 for $12.25. Kept me toasty warm yesterday too. Got Bay several pairs of pants for next fall and winter. Also some other clothes. Got two pairs of shoes for $2.25 each. Bayley is pretty much clothed in Target, Kohls, and Old Navy. Mainly because I shop their sales and they are all in the same shopping center. Occasionally I go to Babies R Us but that's a 20 minute drive and I only buy off the clearance racks.

One habit I developed while Bayley was sick was keeping a package of wipes in the kitchen. Most moms probably already do this anyway, but I got a case of wipes from Sam's Club and found that they all have the hard plastic resealable closing tab on the top. Very handy. So I kept one in the kitchen and have used it for cleaning the countertops, our ceramic top stove (VERY hard to keep clean esp since it's black and shows EVERY crumb of a crumb), our fridge, and of course Bayley.

I stocked up on Infant Motrin at Sam's, too. Guess I'm a little neurotic (no way, me??) and I like to keep a medicine bag in both diaper bags, at her changing table, and in our medicine cabinet in the kitchen. I have a health flex account so I stock up at the first of the year for all things medical (bandaids, Motrin, saline nasal spray, Motrin, gas drops, etc.) and well... I just don't like to run out.

Yes, I also stock up on toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, etc. Don't like to run out of those either.

Joe's school money comes in this week (hopefully) and he wants to take me out to a nice dinner and go out on a date night. Very sweet of him. :) The first thing I thought of was, "We can go grocery shopping and fill up our deep freeze!!!" Yes, I am lame. We'll probably go to dinner at Macaroni Grill and then to see Underworld 3.

Bayley has gotten rather feisty lately. When she gets upset, she arches her back and will bang her head back onto whatever is nearest. It always hurts and she cries even harder. Well, her carseat and highchair don't hurt...but the metal backing on the shopping cart hurts. I think she's showing that she can have a temper like her Daddy. lol. I'm definitely the more laid back of the two of us. He's a very passionate person... he's usually laid back but VERY grumpy when tired or hungry. That's Bayley too. :)

We're going to have to get her a new carseat. She's growing out of her infant carrier and it's just ridiculous trying to carry her around in it. The one I think I want is at Target for $140. I guess I need to do a lot of researching on them, but I'm just too lazy so far. I'm going off the word of the child safety seat personnel here at the hospital. I figure they know what they're talking about.

We stayed up playing the wii last night. Lots of fun. I have yet to do wii fit but we've used the balance board. It's fun. Rayman Rabbids is a cool game. I'm too tired to link that to anything, but you can google it. :)

I hate pictures of myself. I had an entire post devoted to what I hate about my pic. Then I realized, "Who really wants to read that whine bag?" So. No critiques. Just the picture.

Blah Blah Blah

Little Boo Bear is sitting up on her own in carts. She's getting so big; it makes me sad. I want her to stay this little and cute forever. I know I'm obsessed with everything about her...but isn't it cute how those tiny little hands grasp the cart and hold on?

In other news: Joe has started the Spring semester today. He'll be in class on Mon & Wed til 5pm and until 7:15pm Tue & Thu. This means I won't see him much on Tue & Thu and he'll get home in time to see the kiddos getting their baths and off to bed shortly thereafter. Mon & Wed he'll be getting home just before me, which means he'll be tired and starving. This is not a good combo for him.

Bayley still isn't crawling yet and part of me wants her to be "ahead" of the other babies in her daycare class and the other part wants her to NOT crawl because I don't have to chase after her and babyproof the house. If I think I'm tired now, wait til she's crawling and walking!

Last night we played Rayman Rabbids 2 on the wii and my arms got a WORKOUT on one part of the game. You have to move your arms up and down really fast to simulate running on the game and I finally lost to Joe because my arms were on FIRE! What a good workout! I was out of breath afterwards. Z enjoyed it too, of course. We played a round of games then everyone went to bed.

Ice, reflux, resolutions.

We have had ice the last couple of days along with a LOT of rain. Sticking to everything but the roads. It made our beautiful weeping yaupon tree in our front bed fall down. Ice was on every single branch and the weight made it fall. We're going to try to save it when the ice melts, and we're going to baby and pamper it this spring when we add more landscaping.

Oh...I never mentioned this, but just before the holidays one of my doctors told me to give Bayley the anti-reflux med Zantac and that may be what's causing her continual sniffles. He said that it's like throwing up constantly and doesn't that give ME a runny nose when I vomit? I said YES. Made perfect sense. I started giving it to her religiously, despite her making the EEW GROSS face and her sniffles and juicy coughs are GONE. It's a miracle, people. I thought she was just always sick from being a preemie in daycare. Well, I am SO thankful that she's "normal" and without a cold, sniffles, etc. Yay for healthy babies!

I've been asked about New Year Resolutions.

No. I don't do them.

I did in the past and it's just dumb for me. If I want to make a change, just do it NOW and don't wait until a new year starts. It just doesn't motivate me. The two biggest things in my life that I need to change is my health (weight, eating habits, etc) and my finances (I'd like to pay off those effin' credit cards and 2008 medical bills!). I had been working on them before the holidays (lost 10 lbs and paid off the biggest credit card. yay!) but then took a break for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Now I need to get back and I've struggling to find motivation. Joe starts school next week so I'll have to pull myself together and just do it.

For those of you who do resolutions, great! If it works for you, then by all means...go for it. Whatever it takes.

I got the wii for us as a family gift. Joe was shocked and it was SO. HARD. in keeping that secret. I got it back in SEPTEMBER. Go me! Anyway, I also got the wii fit, so hopefully I can start that next week when it's just Bayley and me. :)

Gingerbread House.

Gingerbread house we built this weekend. I'd post other pics but Blogger won't let me.
Z spilled half the candy before we could get started, so I added red and green m&m's and the green/white and red/white chocolate chips. This was the side Z and I decorated. Joe's side is more organized and ours is more "festive." :)

Holiday Photos.

Didn't take Christmas photos because I was busy unwrapping Bay's gifts for her. She was busy playing with the shiny wrapping paper. Note to self for future kids: first Christmas, don't wrap anything. Slap a bow on it and call it done.

New Years Eve we only have one photo. Our neighbors Brian, Ashley, and Lainey all came over for a few hours. Z had a good time entertaining Lainey (who is 1 year old and walking ALL OVER the place!!) and Bay. Below is Lainey, Brian, and Bayley. Joe has his back turned because he's stuffing his face. :)

No one is here at work this week because everyone took off. I decided to stay and hold down the fort because I'm saving up my vacation and sick time until I have another baby. Yes, that's a ways off but I have to save up starting now.
